BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Azerbaijani consumers spent 342.5 million manat ($201.4 million) on pharmaceutical products and medical supplies from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this marks an increase of 28.6 million manat ($16.8 million), or 9.1 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, pharmaceutical products and medical supplies worth 313.9 million manat ($184.6 million) were sold in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2024.
The share of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in the overall trade turnover accounted for 2.3 percent.
Moreover, in the first quarter, retail sales in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 million), including 8.1 billion manat ($4.7 million) in food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 million)in non-food items. Compared to the same period in 2024, retail trade turnover saw a real increase of 3.8 percent, with food products, beverages, and tobacco showing a rise of 1.7 percent, and non-food goods increasing by 6.3 percent.
