BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. Pharmaceutical products and medical supplies worth 465 million manat ($273.5 million) were sold to consumers in Azerbaijan from January through April of this year.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that this figure rose by 63.1 million manat ($37 million), or 15.7 percent, compared to the same period last year (401.9 million manat, or $236.4 million).
The share of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in the total trade turnover was 2.5 percent.
To note, Azerbaijan's retail trade network sold products worth 18.4 billion manat (about $10.8 billion) to consumers from January through April 2025. This included 10.3 billion manat ($6.1 billion) worth of food products, beverages, and tobacco goods, and 8.1 billion manat ($4.8 billion) in non-food items.
Compared to the same period last year, the retail trade turnover increased by 3.7 percent in real terms, with food products, beverages, and tobacco goods rising by 1.6 percent, and non-food goods increasing by 6.4 percent.
