ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 19. The Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov and the Deputy Akim (Governor) of the Zhetysu region of Kazakhstan, Asset Kanagatov, inspected the construction progress of the "Taldykorgan-Usharal" main gas pipeline, Trend reports via QazaqGaz.
The construction of the linear part of the new gas pipeline has been completed to date. Work on sections passing through obstacles, such as difficult natural terrains, underwater crossings, etc., is also nearing completion.
According to the project’s technological scheme, the total length of the gas pipeline is 302.441 km, with a design pressure of 9.8 MPa. The project also includes the construction of 6 gas pipeline branches and 6 automatic gas distribution stations.
“Currently, the construction of all six automatic gas distribution stations has begun simultaneously: ‘Kapal’, ‘Zhansugurov’, ‘Sarkand’, ‘Koilyk’, ‘Kabanbai’, and ‘Usharal’. The readiness of the stations is scheduled for August of this year,” says the statement from QazaqGaz.
In addition, a whopping 148 units of special equipment and a
crew of 356 workers are rolling up their sleeves for the
construction project. The construction work is being kept under a
watchful eye and is hitting the ground running, staying ahead of
the game.
"In a significantly short period, the construction of the linear
part of the pipeline route has been completed, and the construction
of six AGDS (Automatic Gas Distribution Stations) is in full swing.
According to the contract, the project was planned to be completed
by the end of 2026, but considering the social significance of the
project and the high pace of construction and installation work,
the new gas pipeline will be fully ready for the upcoming heating
season, i.e., almost a year and a half ahead of the planned date,”
said Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
The construction of the new gas pipeline began in August 2024 during the working trip of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov to the Zhetysu region. 84 settlements in the Aksu, Sarkand, and Alakol districts, with a population of 134,000, will have access to natural gas. The additional positive effect will be in the form of increased business activity, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and the creation of new jobs.
