TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 23. Uzbekistan's consumer price index (CPI) for services rose to 101.0 percent in April 2025, outpacing the CPI for goods, which stood at 100.6 percent.
Data obtained by Trend from the National Statistics Committee reveals that food prices increased by 0.8 percent during the month, with the short-term CPI for food products in April 2025 being 0.4 percentage points higher than the same period in 2024. The rise is largely attributed to the accelerated growth in prices for meat and oil, and fat products.
Meanwhile, the short-term CPI for non-food products remained relatively stable throughout January-April 2025, with no significant fluctuations. The CPI for non-food products in April was recorded at 100.4 percent.
The CPI for services in April 2025 stood at 101 percent, reflecting a 0.3 percent increase compared to March 2025, but a 0.8 percent decrease compared to April 2024.
These figures highlight ongoing trends in Uzbekistan’s consumer market, with an emphasis on rising food and service sector prices.
