BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Products worth $10.3 million were exported through the Mahabad customs of the West Azerbaijan Province located in northwestern Iran during the first three months of the current Iranian year, Ahmad Ahmadi, director of the Mahabad customs department, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, in the initial quarter, a substantial 90
percent of the commodities were channeled through the Mahabad
customs for exportation to Iraq, with the remainder allocated to
adjacent markets.
Ahmadi articulated that a substantial proportion of the export
throughput via the Mahabad customs was predominantly comprised of
petrochemical commodities and artisanal carpets.
To note, in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), products worth $42 million were exported through the Mahabad customs, marking a two-fold increase compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
