DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 3. Tajikistan continues active harvesting efforts, collecting over 500,000 tons of vegetables since the beginning of 2025, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture.
As of early July, agricultural producers have successfully
executed the harvest of approximately 537,800 metric tons of
horticultural produce across the nation. This signifies a pivotal
juncture in the nation’s agrarian initiative.
A significant proportion of the aggregate tonnage—approximately
283,000 tons—is attributed to onions, which continue to be a key
export commodity for Tajikistan. Subsequent to the preceding data,
the output metrics for carrots and cucumbers are quantified at
63,000 tons and 50,000 tons, respectively, reflecting significant
agricultural productivity. The aggregate yield of tomatoes is
quantified at 49,000 metric tons, whereas the cabbage sector
contributes a total of 31,000 metric tons to the overall
agricultural output.
The ministry indicated that out of the 42,000 hectares allocated
for vegetable crop cultivation, a mere 15,000 hectares have
undergone harvesting to date, implying that aggregate yields are
poised for incremental growth in the forthcoming weeks.
The vegetable production sector in Tajikistan is pivotal in
bolstering domestic food security frameworks while simultaneously
meeting export obligations to regional stakeholders.
