Iran considers scaling up electricity imports from Turkmenistan
Iran is considering increasing electricity imports from Turkmenistan, leveraging the neighboring country’s gas reserves and power infrastructure to strengthen regional energy ties. On a single day in August, Iran imported roughly 400 megawatts (MW) of electricity, five times more than its exports, highlighting the growing demand for cross-border energy trade.
