ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 22. A draft law regulating virtual assets will be one of the central items on the agenda when Turkmenistan’s parliament convenes on November 22, Trend reports via the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The announcement was made during the discussions at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Parliament Speaker Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported that preparations are underway for the parliamentary session, where lawmakers will review the proposed “On Virtual Assets” law—an initiative aimed at updating Turkmenistan’s legal framework to keep pace with global digital-economy developments.

The bill is expected to define the legal status of virtual assets, outline rules for their circulation, and establish regulatory mechanisms for digital financial activities in the country.

In addition to the virtual-assets legislation, the session will also examine the draft 2026 State Budget, a revised law on scientific intellectual property, and a protocol amending an international convention. Lawmakers will further review amendments to existing legal acts and discuss the execution of the 2024 State Budget.
