Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 16 / Trend / Rescue of Russian Sarmat-1 vessel, which wrecked in the
Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, was held in difficult weather
conditions, said State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Tugboat Vadim Seyidov was operating nearby the Chilov Island (previously Zhiloy Island) for the 28 May Oil and Gas Producing Unit. Upon call for
help, the vessel headed for the scene of the accident and reached it at
12.00am.
A difficult rescue operation was carried out with wind force of 20-25 meters and wave height of 4-5 meters. Advanced rescue equipment on Vadim Seyidov enabled the rescue operation.
