Not less than 140 billion tenge is envisaged to be allocated from state budget to stabilize situation on Kazakh labor market, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdikalikova said on April 17.
"Not less than 140 billion tenge is envisaged to be allocated from Kazakh budget to stabilize labor market, ensure regional employment and retraining of staff. Additional resources for co financing of employment must be allocated from local budget - 51 billion tenge," Abdikalikova said addressing the meeting of Public Chamber under Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament.
Situation on labor market deteriorated in Kazakhstan late in 2008, Minister said. Number of employed reduced 30,000 people, number of unemployed hit 589,600 people but unemployment increased from 6.6 percent to 7.0 percent within the first quarter of 2009.
Partial employment rather spread, Minister said.
"Roughly 642 enterprises with 245,000 employees fully or partially ceased their work as of April 1, 2009. Roughly 87,300 hired employees work half day and/or on holiday without wage preservation, Abdikalikova said.
Average weighted rate of tenge to U.S dollar increased 0.02 tenge and hit 150.15 tenge per $1 at auction of Kazakh stock exchange (KASE) on April 17.
