There was not any considerable change on the Azerbaijani labor market in 2009, Labor and Social Protection Minister Fuzuli Alakbarov said at the second international scientific-practical conference on "Social aid, social rehabilitation: long-term development" on April 24.
"There have not been any changes even at employment services' weekly monitoring where it is possible to receive a job," Alakbarov said.
Despite this, the Labor Ministry submitted proposals to the government to monitor 18,500 domestic farming to specify life condition level.
"The monitoring will cover a group of people being engaged in agriculture and even informal sector of economy and other fields," the minister said. "We can receive reports about state of the labor market after analyzing results of the monitoring."
Despite intensifying of the global crisis and the country's problems concerning this, salary is being increased in Azerbaijan, although there are problems with lack of professional staff, he said.
"At present employment agencies inform us about state of economy and we intend to develop mechanism which will direct each citizen from a desk to a definite profession," Alakbarov said.
According to data of the International Labor Organization (ILO), an unemployment level in Azerbaijan decreased by 0.4 percent to 6.1 percent. These calculations were conducted in line with the ILO methodology.
