In January-November of 2010, Turkey was visited by 445,383 Azerbaijani tourists, which is 13.66 percent more than the same period last year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey said. In January-November of 2009, Turkey was visited by 391,841 tourists from Azerbaijan.
For the first 11 months of 2010 1.62 percent of the total number of tourists fell to Azerbaijan, while during the same period last year the figure was 1.52 percent.
The total number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in January-November of 2010 amounted to 27.466 million people, which is 6.25 percent more than the same period last year. During this period, most tourists came from Germany (15.42 percent), Russia (11.15 percent) and Great Britain (9.61 percent).
The total number of foreign tourists who visited Turkey in November amounted to 1.491 million, which is 6.22 percent more than the figures for the same period last year.
The top three countries with the largest number of tourists visiting Turkey in November, includes Germany, Iran and Bulgaria. They accounted for 16.68, 9.09 and 8.72 percent of the total number of tourists, respectively.
They are followed by Georgia (6.35 percent), Syria (5.39 percent), Russia (4.39 percent), Greece (3.34 percent), Britain (3.22 percent), Azerbaijan (3 percent) and France ( 2.98 percent).
In November 2010, 44,723 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Turkey (3 percent of the total number), whereas in November 2009, Turkey was visited by 32,262 tourists from Azerbaijan (2.3 percent).
