Iran Petrochemical production hits 100 million tons by 2015

Iran petrochemical production is predicted to increase to 100 million tons next four years.

The amount of $46 billion has been invested in Iran petrochemical industry with 49 million tons capacity during the past 46 years, Mehr News Agency reported quoting National Petrochemical Company Managing Director AbdolHossein Bayat as saying.

The Iranian official predicted that petrochemical production would increase to 100 million tons by March 2015.

Iran produces around 40 million tons of petrochemical materials annually and exports 30 million tons of them.
Petrochemical products include 30 percent of Iran non-oil exports.
Iran exported $28.4 billion worth of non-oil products together with technical and engineering services, as well as $66.21 billion worth of oil and gas products during the previous Iranian year (ended March 20, 2010).
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran is the third largest country in the Middle East and Central Asia in terms of exports and imports
