Nominal salary increase by 22.5 percent in Kazakhstan in December

Average monthly nominal wage per employee increased by 22.5 percent in December compared to November in Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Statistics Agency reported.

According to the agency, nominal wage made up 119,144 tenge ($802) in December. Wage growth in real terms hit 14.1 percent.

The highest salary remained in the professional, scientific and technological spheres- 241,400 tenge ($1,627), financial and insurance spheres - 238,800 tenge ($1,608), mining and quarrying spheres 234,800 tenge ($1,581).

Workers in agriculture, forest and fishing industries have the lowest wages in the country - 55,700 tenge ($375).

Meanwhile, the highest salaries remained in Kazakh Mangistau region - 220,900 tenge ($1,488). The lowest salaries were in the North-Kazakhstan region - 77,500 tenge ($522).
