Aktau international sea trade port shipped over 3.46 million tons of oil-loading freights in Jan-April compared to 3.6 million tons in Jan-April of 2009, sea trade port said. The amount of shipped oil-loading freights in April amounts to 801,020, which is more the forecasted amount by 1.39 percent
In 2009, Aktau international sea trade port shipped over 11.3 million tons of oil-loading freights compared to nearly nine million tons in 2008.
In Jan-April, over 1,130 tons of dry freights were shipped compared to 442,000 tons in Jan-April. Particularly, 675,750 tons of this figure fell to the metallurgical cargo, ferry cargo - 154,930 tons, grain - 245,940 tons and 56,860 - other goods.
Last year, the port shipped more than 2.6 million tons of dry cargo compared to 2.11 million tons in 2008.
In January-April, the port shipped approximately 4.6 million tons of oil and dry cargo compared to 4 million in January-April 2009.
Total volume of Aktau international sea trade port's transportation hit 14 million tons of dry and oil-loading freights in 2009. This index hit 11 million tons in 2008.
Roughly 731 ships operated in Aktau port in January-April.
Presently, there are six international sea ports - Baku (Azerbaijan), Astrakhan (Russia), Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Enzeli and Neka (Iran) in the Caspian Sea.
