AISCP decreases oil cargo handling in February

The Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (AISCP) in February handled 657,000 tons of oil cargo compared to 711,000 tons in January, the port said.
The AISCP in 2010 handled more than 9.56 million tons of oil compared to more than 11.3 million tons in 2009, the port said.
Part the oil shipped through the Aktau is transported to Baku, where through the railroad is delivered to the Black Sea ports of Georgia.
Some 111,000 tons of the total volume fell to metal products in February, ferry cargo - 84,000, grain - 2,000 tons, and other goods - 20,000 tons.
In January-February, the port handled 1.86 million tons of various cargoes. About 1.4 million tons of the total volume fell to oil-related cargo, while the rest part fell to dry cargo.
In 2010, the Port handled over 12.8 million tons of dry and oil cargoes compared about 14 million tons in 2009.
In January-February the Aktau port received 313 ships. In 2010, the figure hit 2,085 ships.
There are six international seaports in the Caspian Sea today, - Baku (Azerbaijan), Astrakhan (Russia), Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Enzeli and Neka (Iran).
