By Nargiz Sadikhova – Trend:

A prohibition on transportation of liquefied petroleum gas from Kazakhstan has been introduced, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.

The prohibition covers export using road transport and is valid for the next three years. A similar prohibition was also introduced in 2017.

Thus, for example, in 2017, in terms of significant differences between export and domestic prices, the current mechanism of distribution of the CIS for the needs of the domestic market was confronted with the facts of malpractice, such as the organization of the gas network.

Separate gas network organizations have carried out an illegal export to the territory of Kazakhstan, which is intended to ensure the needs of the domestic market. Illegal export of CIS gas network organizations to the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out by road since it is practically uncontrollable.

Thus, the export prohibition is aimed to prevent illegal liquefied petroleum gas export to CIS countries and deficit of liquefied petroleum gas on the domestic market, due to the insignificant difference between the exported domestic products.
