Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency was consistent in regards to monitoring and verification of related activities, the IAEA has submitted its analysis and questions to Iran two months ago, said Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna.

"The IAEA has submitted its analysis result and questions about two locations to Iran two months ago and they are currently being evaluated by us to provide the necessary answer to the IAEA. Iran has announced its readiness to cooperate with the IAEA to continue technical topics, considering the situation setting an unrealistic deadline for cooperation is not in favor of anyone," said Kazem Gharib Abadi, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

"The IAEA inspectors have run field verification of nuclear activities twice in the second half of 2020 in addition to annual verification that is in the first half of year, however, the new request of the IAEA is being reviewed," he said referring to issue of producing uranium metal.

Abadi went on to stress that Iran was steady in protecting the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) despite the US withdrawal and in this situation the EU and three European countries could not fulfill their commitments apart from issuing statements in support of the JCPOA, the (Iranian) parliament's law obligates the government to fully stop monitoring and verification including the Additional Protocol if the other sides would not comply to their commitments.

"Iran and the IAEA agreed to continue essential verification for up to three months was based on mutual goodwill that has opened a new window of opportunity and the others should implement their JCPOA commitments. If all sanctions are lifted we are ready to fully implement commitments. Iran did not leave the Joint Commission negotiation table and those that want to return to negotiating table should make a proper measure for it," he noted.

"Considering Iran's current constructive cooperation with the IAEA, any politically motivated action for abusing the IAEA is a violation and non-constructive approach in regards to mutual trust between Iran and the IAEA, therefore we welcome the awareness of the IAEA members and especially Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency to prevent tensions," he added.
