ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 12. The tally of enrolled individuals utilizing Internet Banking in Turkmenistan surpassed 1.09 million as of the beginning of July 2024, Trend reports.

Information from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan show that these statistics represent an 11 percent increase compared to the number of registered users at the beginning of the corresponding month last year, which amounted to 990,776 people.

The greatest number of enrolled users of this service reside in the Mary (249,466 users) and Lebap (243,425 users) regions, as well as in the city of Ashgabat (238,487 users).

Throughout the reporting timeframe, Dayhanbank exhibited the highest user count, with 403,112 registered users. Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank followed closely with 376,915 users, while Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank gathered 180,650 users, attaining the third position in this metric.

In the interim, individuals utilize the Internet Banking application to top up non-cash items such as landline and mobile phones, IP-TV, and the Internet, as well as to settle loans and buy tickets for rail and intercity buses.

Turkmenistan's financial sector is witnessing steady expansion, particularly in the integration of mobile applications for various service and product payments. Transaction volumes are increasing, alongside the advent of new payment methods available through bank payment terminals.
