BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 4. The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) plans to prepare an Ethical Charter for Artificial Intelligence in the Islamic World draft, the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The subject was considered during a regional workshop on the Charter of Artificial Intelligence for the Islamic World held in Oman on July 2–3.

"ICESCO and the Oman University of Technology and Applied Sciences held a workshop on the Islamic World Artificial Intelligence Charter (IWAIC) for the Asia and Middle East region. The event was attended by 4SIM's AI Project Lead Ruslan Zeynalzada," stated 4SIM.

The two-day workshop was a hotbed of discussions on the rising global interest in artificial intelligence and the need to keep its use in check with ethical regulations.

"Based on the resolution adopted at the 43rd session of ICESCO in December 2022, ICESCO plans to draft an 'Ethical Charter for Artificial Intelligence in the Islamic World'," the center emphasized.

The Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) was established by a decree from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 6, 2021, and coordinates projects related to the digital economy and innovative technologies.
