ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 26. In total, for the first five months of 2025 (from January through May), 85,467 vehicles were sold in Kazakhstan, which is 28.7 percent more than the same period last year (66,401 units), Trend reports via the Kazakhstan Automobile Union.
According to the information from the President of the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, Anar Makasheva, May 2025 confirmed the sustainability of the positive dynamics: dealers, along with banks, continue to join forces to make the purchase of new cars more accessible to a wider audience.
“Taken together, these factors explain the significant growth in sales over the first five months of this year—almost a third. Overall, this is an optimistic indicator for the national market. The average price of a new car purchase from January through May of this year was 15.9 million tenge (approximately $30,210). A similar figure last year was slightly higher but still above -16.1 million (approximately $30,590). We are also seeing steady interest from Kazakhstanis in modern, high-tech models. Based on our estimates, this trend will continue through the end of the year, and by the end of 2025, sales volume could reach a new historical milestone,” she said.
As of the first five months of this year, Hyundai leads the brand rankings (20,102 units; +36.5 percent), with Chevrolet in second place (11,078 units sold; +79.9 percent) and Kia in third place (9,116 units sold; +6.7 percent). Chery dealers sold 5,898 vehicles (+9.2 percent). The top five best-selling brands is completed by Jetour, with 5,749 units sold (+78.2 percent).
