BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 12. Through various money transfer services, individuals from Kyrgyzstan sent $34.9 million overseas in April 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan shows that this amount is up 7.7 percent from March 2024's $32.4 million, but it's down 23.6 percent from the $45.7 million transferred in the same month of 2023.
To countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), $29.5 million was sent from Kyrgyzstan: $28.4 million to Russia and $300,000 to Kazakhstan.
To non-CIS countries, individuals from Kyrgyzstan sent $5.5 million, of which $5.3 million was sent to Türkiye.
In total, for the previous year, $561.2 million was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries, while transfers into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $2.706 billion. The net inflow was $2.144 billion.
