BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 21. Gazprom Kyrgyzstan has invested 33 billion soms ($377.3 million) into the country’s gas infrastructure since 2014, Trend reports.
The expansion of gas supply to new areas is part of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan’s Master Plan and investment program. Over the period, nearly 1,500 kilometers of gas pipelines have been built, connecting 54 residential neighborhoods and settlements with a combined population of around 300,000 people.
Over the past 11 years, the gas supply rate in Kyrgyzstan has nearly doubled, rising from 22 percent to 42 percent. Annual gas consumption has increased 2.5 times, from 210 million to 517 million cubic meters, while the number of subscribers grew from 291,000 to 426,000.
According to Gazprom Kyrgyzstan, one of the largest projects in 2025 is the gas supply to Novopokrovka village, where work on four major sections has been completed. The total length of pipelines there will reach 144 kilometers, providing gas access to more than 7,000 homes.
Meanwhile, it was noted that in 2024, 80 percent of connection applications in Bishkek included requests for gas boilers. Natural gas is recognized as the cleanest and most energy-efficient heating option.
Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC Gazprom. Its core business is supplying and selling natural gas within Kyrgyzstan. The company’s priorities include transporting, distributing, and selling natural gas, as well as reconstructing and expanding existing pipeline systems and underground gas storage facilities in the country.
