ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 2. Turkmenistan's Balkan shipyard, ship repair plant, and the Netherlands DE Klop B.V. company discuss joint construction of dredgers, Trend reports.
According to the Balkan shipyard, these issues were discussed during a meeting of shareholders of DE Klop B.V. with a representative of the Turkmen shipyard during his working visit to the Netherlands.
During the meeting, which took place at the Baggermuseum in Sliedrecht city, special attention was paid to the initiative of the Balkan plant in developing bilateral cooperation with DE Klop B.V. in the field of localization, joint construction, and design of dredgers on the territory of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen side expressed interest in the joint construction of dredgers, the design of dredgers taking into account the specifics of Turkmenistan, as well as training on the repair of basic equipment and mechanisms of dredgers at the Balkan shipyard.
In turn, the shareholders of DE Klop B.V. supported this initiative and declared their readiness to work together in all aspects of the construction and repair of dredgers.
The parties agreed to develop technical and price proposals, exchange experience in the field of dredger design and construction, and organize training for Turkmen specialists.
In addition to traditional dredgers, DE Klop B.V. presented a draft dredger powered by electricity, which can be especially useful for Turkmenistan, given the low cost of electricity in the country.
Meanwhile, a dredger is a vessel of the technical fleet specially designed for deepening water in a certain area, for example, in ports, on the seabed, or for the for the extraction of non-metallic building materials.
Such vessels can be useful in creating deep-water marinas, facilitating ship navigation, or solving environmental problems related to pollution or changes in the hydrological situation.
