BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. The trade volume between Uzbekistan and Spain stood at 73.69 million euros during the period from January through July of 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union, told Trend.
This figure represents a significant increase of 3.9 times compared to the same period in 2022, which had a trade turnover of 18.69 million euros.
As per Eurostat, Uzbekistan's imports from Spain amounted to 68.13 million euros during this period, reflecting a substantial growth of 4.4 times in comparison to the first seven months of 2022 when imports totaled 15.2 million euros.
Furthermore, exports from Uzbekistan to Spain demonstrated notable growth, rising by 37 percent and reaching a total of 5.56 million euros, compared to 3.49 million euros in the corresponding period of 2022.
The overall trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the member states of the European Union from January through July 2023 exceeded 2.95 billion euros.
In addition, the total trade turnover between Uzbekistan and EU countries in 2022 amounted to 4.61 billion euros, marking a 41 percent increase compared to the 2.77 billion euros recorded in 2021.
