Non-oil exports of Iran's South Khorasan Province increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. The export of non-oil products from South Khorasan province located in northeastern Iran has increased by 90 percent in value and 75 percent in weight during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), the director general of the Customs Administration of Iran's South Khorasan Province Mohammad Kouhgerd said, Trend reports.

According to him, a whopping 297,000 tons of non-oil products, valued at a cool $35 million, were shipped out of South Khorasan province in just 3 months.

Koohgerd noted that the products were mainly exported to Iraq, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan.

The official added that the exported products are mainly cement, vegetables, ceramics, and others.

Kouhgerd emphasized that 337,000 tons of non-oil products worth $150 million were exported from other provinces of Iran through the customs of South Khorasan province for 3 months.

To note, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to $13.5 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year.
