BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. The transit of goods through Bashmaq Customs of Kurdistan Province, located in western Iran, increased by 100 percent by weight during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), controller of customs in Iran's Kurdistan Province Faramarz Omidi said, Trend reports.
According to him, about 467,000 tons of products worth $1.07 billion were transported through Bashmaq Customs in Kurdistan Province for 3 months.
Omidi pointed out that about 429,000 tons of non-oil products worth $194 million were exported through the customs of the Kurdistan Province of Iran during the three months.
The official added that 64,800 tons of products worth $175 million were imported through Iran's Kurdistan Province during the three months.
"The total trade turnover through the customs of Iran's Kurdistan Province exceeded $1.5 billion within 3 months. This is a 34 percent increase compared to the same period last year," he noted.
Meanwhile, three customs offices are operating in Iran's Kurdistan Province.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran exported 38 million tons of non-oil products worth $13.5 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 7.6 percent in value and 5.6 percent in weight compared to the same month last year.
