BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 15. The flare gas burning at Iran's Darkhovin oil field has been reduced to a minimum of 5 million cubic feet per day (about 142,000 cubic meters), Executive Director of Iran's Arvandan Oil and Gas Production Company Abdollah Ozari Ahvazi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, earlier, 70 million cubic feet (about 1.98 million cubic meters) of flared gas was burned daily at the Darkhovin oil field. The amount of flared gas has decreased with the maintenance work. This gas is pumped into a tank to increase pressure.
Ozari Ahvazi noted that Iran's Arvand and Band-e-Karkeh fields are new oil fields that have been handed over to Arvandan Oil and Gas Production Company for production purposes.
“Arvandan Oil and Gas Production Company aims to reduce flared gas to zero by 2026,” he noted.
To note, the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company is affiliated with the Iranian National Oil Company. At present, the daily crude oil production potential of the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company is 400,000 barrels. This company can also produce 7.64 million cubic meters (270 million cubic feet) of gas daily.
