BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. More than 180,000 tons of non-oil products worth $467 million were exported via the Zanjan Province customs office located in the west of Iran during ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025), the director general of the customs administration of Iran's Zanjan Province Zeyn-ul-Abedin Ganj-khanlou, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, exports of non-oil products via Zanjan customs increased by 18 percent in value terms and decreased by 8 percent in weight during ten months compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through January 2024).
Ganj-khanlou noted that during the mentioned period, products were exported mainly to Türkiye, Iraq, and the UAE through the customs of Zanjan province. Of the exported products, 56 percent were zinc ingots, 25 percent transformers, and 5 percent paper.
He added that 184,000 tons of products worth $381 million were imported through the customs of Zanjan Province during the ten months. The import of products decreased by 16 percent in value and 4 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
The official stated that during the ten months, products were mainly imported from Türkiye, the UAE, and Germany. Of the imported products, 23 percent were paper dough, 14 percent were equipment and spare parts, and 12 percent were polyamide.
To note, more than 1,100 industrial enterprises operate in Iran's Zanjan Province. It is reported that 5 more countries have been added to the countries of non-oil exports this year.
