BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. As many as 2.22 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.31 billion were exported through Mehran Customs of Ilam Province in west Iran during ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025), Director General of Ilam Province’s Customs Administration Sohrab Kamari told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, non-oil products were mainly exported to Iraq and other countries via Meran customs. The exports were mainly petrochemical products, power plant equipment, construction materials, ceramics, metal, rubber, and agricultural products.
Kamari pointed out that Iran exported 3.22 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.81 billion to Iraq and other countries via Mehran Customs last year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
To note, Iran's Mehran Customs is located 230 kilometers from the Iraqi capital Baghdad and is considered one of Iran's main customs offices for exporting products to that country. An average of 600 trucks transport goods to Iraq daily via Mehran Customs.
