Iranian Central Oil Fields Company expects increased oil output next year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) is set to increase production from the Khesht oil field by 35 percent during the upcoming Iranian year (from March 21, 2025, through March 20, 2026), compared to the current year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), CEO of the ICOFC Peyman Imani told reporters, Trend reports.

Imani explained that the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company, operating under the ICOFC, plans to add an additional 3,500 barrels per day to the daily production at the Khesht oil field in the coming year.

Imani noted that increasing production at Khesht will contribute significantly to boosting Iran's crude oil output.

Iran began production at the Khesht oil field in 2021. Currently, five wells have been drilled at the field, with a daily production capacity of 20,000 barrels of crude oil.

The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) is one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The SZOGPC currently has 9 gas fields - Aghar, Dalan, Nar, Kangan, Sarkhoon, Tabnak, Homa, Varavi, Shanol - and 3 oil fields - Saadatabad, Sarvestan, and Khesht—under its management.

A total of 84 oil and gas fields are under the management of Central Oil Zones in 11 provinces of Iran. To date, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields have been developed. The maximum production potential of Central Oil Zones Company is about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas daily.
