Iran reveals export figures via its Zanjan Province customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Exports through the Zanjan Province's customs in western Iran have reached a value of $540 million dollars, with 195,000 tons of goods exported in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from 20 March 2024 through 18 February 2025), Zeyn-ul-Abedin Ganj-Khanlou, Director-General of the province's customs department, told reporters, Trend reports.

Speaking to the media, Ganj-Khanlou noted that the value of exports has risen by 26 percent and declined 8 percent by weight compared to the same period last year (from 21 March 2023 through 19 February 2024).

The primary export destinations for goods through Zanjan Province include Türkiye, Iraq, and the UAE. Key exports consist of zinc ingots, transformers, and metal products.

The official also mentioned that over the same period, imports through Zanjan customs totaled $422 million, representing 207,000 tons of goods. In terms of value, imports have decreased by 15 percent, while the weight of imports has dropped by 2 percent.

"The main products imported through Zanjan include paper pulp, equipment, and absorbent powder, with primary suppliers being Türkiye, the UAE, and Germany," he said.

Iran's Customs Administration data shows that the country's total exports of non-oil products amounted to 141 million tons worth $53.4 billion during 11 months. Compared to the same period last year, non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight.

The administration data also shows that Iran imported 35 million tons of products worth $63.6 billion during 11 months, meaning an increase of 5.6 percent in value but a decrease of 2.6 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
