BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4.​ Product imports through the customs of Iran’s Kurdistan Province, located in western Iran, increased by 39 percent in value and 258 percent in weight in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), compared to the previous year (March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Faramarz Omidi, the province’s customs office supervisor, told reporters, Trend reports.

Omidi added that in the past year, the region's customs handled imports worth $934 million, amounting to over 413,000 tons of products.

The customs official stated that the main imports included gold bullion, aluminum, raw materials, and spare parts for equipment, with goods coming primarily from Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye, China, Austria, Italy, and Oman.

A total of 3 customs services operate in Iran's Kurdistan Province.

Overall, Iran exported 5.66 million tons of non-oil products worth $6.66 billion last year.
