The Iranian vehicle manufacturing company Iran Khodro Diesel has launched a production line for Photon semi-trailer trucks, ISNA news agency reported on Feb. 11.
The company's CEO Hoda Younosian, speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony held for the unveiling of the product, spoke on the company's new products.
The semi-trailer (Mercedes-Benz) Accor and Photon pickup trucks are being introduced as the most quality trucks introduced so far in the country, she said.
Younosian added that the products will be available in market after the related certificates are acquired.
The official also said that the company is producing a minibus named Aryan - which is first domestically made minibus , and it has passed all standard qualification tests.
The minibus is made especially to meet the local needs of Iranian customers and is adapted to the environmental factors of the country, she pointed out.
Iranian car producers excluding Iran Khodro Diesel stopped minibus and middlebus production during the 8th calendar month of the current Iranian calendar year (Oct. 22-Nov. 22).
Younosian said that Iran Khodro has provided the most comprehensive after-sale service in Iran and is ready to cover all customers needs around the country.
About 96,648 cars in total were produced in Iran in the 8th calendar month of the current Iranian year (October 22-Nov. 22) or 6,590 cars less than its preceding month.
The Islamic Republic produced some 722,325 cars during the first eight months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21- Nov. 22) or 69.8 percent more year on year.
The country's total mini and middle bus output stood at 96 during the period.
Iran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer. Iran also stood at the world's 18th place in the mentioned year.
Iran's automobile output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to the sanctions. The country was Asia's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011 with a total output of 1,648,505.
Western countries suspended certain sanctions against Iran as the Geneva nuclear deal came into force on January 20. Iran was permitted to import materials for its auto-manufacturing sector as a result of the nuclear deal implementation, which has led to a sharp increase in the country's auto exports in recent months.
