BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. The export of non-oil products from South Khorasan Province, located in northeastern Iran, increased by 42 percent in value and 28 percent in weight during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), director general of the Customs Administration of Iran's South Khorasan Province Mohammad Kouhgerd told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, during the past eight months, South Khorasan Province has sent 1.9 million tons of non-oil products worth a whopping $602 million out the door.
Kouhgerd added that cement, ceramics, vegetables, rubber products, chicken eggs, car tires, and many others were mainly exported from the province during the eight months. The products were exported mainly to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
To note, Iran exported 104 million tons of non-oil products worth $38.2 billion during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024). Exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
