Azerbaijan satisfied an appeal of individual accused of killing a policeman.
Today Sumgayit Court of Appeal announced a decision on appeal of Kelbajar region 28-year old resident Rasim Mammadov, accused of killing a policeman of Head Department of State Road Police.
According to the indictment, the Serious Crimes Court's verdict has been changed, and indictment on Mammadov under Articles 120.2.2 (murder committed from hooligan prompting), 120.2.4. (murder committed with special cruelty or in publicly dangers way), 221 (hooliganism) was changed to Article 126.3 (deliberate causing of serious harm to healththe acts, which is provided by articles 126.1 and 126.2 of the present Code, on imprudence entailed to death of a victim) of the Criminal Code. In accordance with this article, the court sentenced the accused to nine year's imprisonment.
Mammadov was sentenced by Serious Crimes Court to thirteen years imprisonment.
Mammadov killed Elchin Ilyasova, a policeman of Head Department of State Road Police at 90 km Baku-Guba, near Khidir Zinda mosque in the Siyazan region June 1, 2009.
