BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. A total of 6 million, 290.2 thousand tons of crude oil were processed in 2023 at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), the company's annual report for 2023 said, Trend reports.
SOCAR's report indicates that production included 1,464.4 tons of automotive gasoline, 594.1 thousand tons of jet fuel, 2 million 311.4 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 237.6 thousand tons of liquefied gases, 277.8 thousand tons of bitumen, 8.9 thousand tons of lubricating oils, and 231.7 thousand tons of petroleum coke and other additional products.
As a result of the year’s activities, the depth of oil processing reached 97.6 percent. Throughout the year, 90.3 percent of the refined products were directed to the domestic market, while the remainder, 9.7 percent, was exported.
Notably, compared to the previous year, oil processing increased by 4.84 percent compared to 2022.
To note, Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery was established in 1953 and is now the largest and most innovative challenger in the fuel production sector of Azerbaijan. The refinery is currently undergoing reconstruction and modernization operations
