ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 18. A Canadian firm has announced plans to establish a factory for agricultural equipment manufacturing in Kazakhstan's Kokshetau, Trend reports.

On October 18, Madiyar Sultanbek, Deputy Chairman of JSC "National Company KAZAKH INVEST," held a meeting with Glen Keller, CEO of CanAgro, along with representatives from the Canadian embassy in Kazakhstan. The discussion focused on CanAgro's intentions to set up a manufacturing facility in the Akmolinsk Region.

Keller presented the project, which aims to incorporate advanced technologies, with an estimated initial investment between $4 and $5 million.

The facility is expected to cater to domestic markets in Kazakhstan while also facilitating exports to Central Asia and Russia. CanAgro plans to begin supplying components for the inaugural production batch by February 2025. The initial phase of the project is projected to create between 20 and 30 new jobs, with potential for further employment growth as production increases.

Representatives from KAZAKH INVEST provided detailed information about available government support measures and the national company's role in facilitating investment projects. Both parties concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to fostering collaboration on this strategic initiative.
