ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 23. A Chinese company is spearheading a project to build an industrial park in Kazakhstan dedicated to deep corn processing, Trend reports.
During a working visit to China aimed at enhancing investment cooperation, Yerzhan Elekeev, Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST JSC, met with Li Xuechun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fufeng Group. The discussions focused on the progress of the company’s project to construct a vertically integrated industrial park for deep corn processing.
It was highlighted that the park's production capacity will reach 500,000 tons per year, creating approximately 1,000 jobs. The industrial park will include a starch production facility, an amino acid fermentation plant, a coal-powered energy station, and a wastewater treatment system.
Currently, Fufeng Group is in the process of selecting a suitable land plot for the project.
Elekeev previously met with the company in August, where further cooperation was discussed.
Meanwhile, as of the latest data, the number of registered Chinese-owned companies has grown steadily in recent years, with August 2024 marking a record month for growth, with 150 new companies established. In total, 4,674 Chinese-owned entities and branches are registered in Kazakhstan, with about two-thirds - 3,062 companies - currently active.
