ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 3. Automobile production in Kazakhstan has decreased by 2.1 percent compared to last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that 11,280 units of equipment were produced in Kazakhstan in September, with a total value of $297.6 million.
In total, for the first nine months of 2024, 92,243 units of equipment were produced in Kazakhstan, including 82,877 passenger cars (-16.7 percent), 5,896 trucks (-15.2 percent), and 1,838 buses (-7.5 percent). Additionally, 1,246 trailers and semi-trailers and 386 units of other special equipment were produced, with a total value of $2.5 billion.
In light of these losses, Anar Makasheva, President of the Union of Legal Entities "Kazakhstan Automobile Union," shared her perspective.
"The figures showing a decrease in production volumes are a short-term reflection of problems with logistics, equipment supplies, raw materials, and components through our closest neighbors. At the same time, the automotive industry is not slowing its pace of development; our manufacturers are already committing to deepening technological operations in small-scale production. All new models are immediately entering the market with a high degree of refinement. We have an ambitious goal of organizing about 5,000 jobs. Even now, platforms for training and preparing personnel have been established at existing enterprises," noted Makasheva.
The Union of Legal Entities "Kazakhstan Automobile Union" (KAU) is a non-profit organization established on July 21, 2023, in the city of Astana. The union includes Kazakh associations of automobile manufacturers, automotive component producers, public transport, importers, dealers, used cars, automotive experts, and auditors.
