BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. KazMunayGas (KMG) has reported a 2.4-percent year-on-year increase in oil cargo turnover for the first nine months of 2024, reaching 46.419 million tonne-kilometers, Trend reports.
This growth is primarily attributed to rising domestic oil transportation for refining needs, as well as the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan, the producer explained.
KazTransOil, KMG’s main subsidiary, handled the bulk of the cargo, with 26.197 million tonne-kilometers, representing a 2.1-percent increase from 2023.
The Kazakhstan-China Pipeline Company contributed 12.438 million tonne-kilometers, a slight increase of 0.2 percent, reflecting steady demand in the Asia-Pacific market.
Other contributors, such as MunaiTas and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, also saw increases of 8.1 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively, due to enhanced transportation capacity and transit demand.
Meanwhile, KMG has reported a 6.4-percent year-on-year increase in its combined oil transit volumes, reaching a total of 63.197 million tons for the first nine months of 2024.
