Kazakhstan sees rise in Russian company openings in last year

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 27. Currently, there are 23,000 Russian companies operating in Kazakhstan, with 4,000 of them having opened just in the past year, Trend reports.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, stated this in his article.

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in Astana for a state visit. Ahead of his visit, Tokayev published an article on relations with Russia.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, the relationship between Kazakhstan and Russia serves as an example of strong and unbreakable friendship. Despite unprecedented global challenges, Kazakhstan and Russia demonstrate a model of positive neighborliness and multifaceted cooperation.

The volume of mutual investments between the two countries has steadily increased. In 2023, Russian companies invested more than $3 billion in Kazakhstan, while Kazakhstan invested the same amount in the Russian economy. To date, over 90 projects have been implemented with a total value of more than $18 billion, and another 49 promising projects are in the process of execution.

The President also mentioned in his article that Kazakhstan and Russia share the world's longest land border. Around 32 million people live in the border regions on both sides.

In Kazakhstan, over 3,500 schools conduct classes in Russian, television channels and radio stations broadcast in Russian, newspapers and magazines are published, and Russian dramatic theaters delight viewers in almost all regions.

It is worth noting that today, Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, for a state visit. During the visit to Akorda (the residence of the President of Kazakhstan), an official meeting between the heads of the two states is expected. Also planned are negotiations in both narrow and expanded formats, the signing of important bilateral documents, and a joint press statement.

Additionally, Kazakhstan will chair another session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) at the Palace of Independence the following day. The heads of state from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, along with the CSTO Secretary General, will attend the event. Among the invited guests are the secretaries general of the CIS and the SCO.
