Kazakhstan's auto market revs up in November

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 13. The new car market in November grew by 10.7 percent compared to the same month last year, Trend reports, citing data from the Automobile Union of Kazakhstan.

According to the information, in November, 20,984 units of passenger cars and commercial vehicles were sold. In total, over 11 months of 2024, Kazakhstan’s dealers sold 179,628 new cars (+2.6 percent).

Chevrolet remains in first place in the top 10 best-selling brands in Kazakhstan for November for the second consecutive month, with 4,418 units (+4.1 percent compared to November last year). Hyundai dealers sold 3,829 cars (+6.3 percent); Kia is in third place with 1,617 units (-23 percent). Chery is in fourth place with 1,515 units (-24.4 percent). Fifth place in November goes to Haval with 1,451 units (+89.4 percent). Toyota is in sixth place (1,211 units; -3.3 percent). Jac is in seventh place (1,056 units; +23.1 percent). The bottom three brands are Geely (978 units; +116.4 percent), Changan (966 units; +100 percent), and Jetour (923 units; +48.9 percent).

The top 10 most popular models in Kazakhstan for November are led by Chevrolet Cobalt (4,159 units), Hyundai Tucson (1,843 units), and, for the first time in third place, Haval M6 (727 units). The fourth spot goes to the Hyundai Elantra (726 units). The following models in the ranking are the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (618 units), Chery Tiggo 4 (546 units), Toyota Camry (511 units), Hyundai Sonata (508 units), Changan CS55 Plus (466 units), and Kia Sportage (437 units).

At the end of November, Hyundai led the brand rankings with 37,998 units. Chevrolet held second place with 26,463 cars sold, and Kia was in third with 21,087 units. Chery took fourth place with 13,491 cars. Jac stayed in fifth place with 10,143 units. Toyota was in sixth place (9,790 units). The rest of the ranking is as follows: Haval (9,672 units), Jetour (8,360 units), Changan (7,700 units), and Geely (7,237 units).

To note, the Kazakhstan Automobile Union is a non-profit organization founded in 2023 in Astana. The union brings together Kazakhstan’s associations of automobile manufacturers, auto component producers, public transport, importers, dealers, used car dealers, auto experts, and auditors (for automotive product compliance assessment).
