ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 10. Kazakhstan is modernizing nine border control points on its borders with China, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, according to the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
"As part of the planned work, the capacity is expected to increase up to six times per day, on average from 170 to 960 vehicles, and the border crossing time is expected to be reduced to 30 minutes. The modernization of the nine crossing points is planned to be completed this year," the ministry said.
Additionally, an automated electronic queue system has been implemented at all 10 automobile border points along the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union.
To note, implementation of the system has eliminated physical congestion of vehicles along the main republican roads and ensured transparency in the transportation process.
