ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 26. Kazakhstani Samruk-Energy concluded 2024 with outstanding results in energy and heat production, Trend reports.
Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Energy JSC Kairat Maksutov informed about the achieved production results, as well as investment projects implemented in 2024 and plans for 2025 at an extended meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Energy.
The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.
''In 2024, the Samruk-Energy group of companies exceeded all planned targets, with these results surpassing those achieved in 2023. Specifically, the volume of electricity production for 2024 was 39.7 billion kWh, and the volume of heat production was 6.6 million Gcal,'' the chairman noted.
He emphasized that the repairs of 104 units of the main
equipment of power plants planned for 2024 have been carried out in
full. The current heating season for Samruk-Energy's power plants
is in normal mode. The stations have provided fuel reserves (coal,
fuel oil) above the norm.
The head of Samruk-Energy stressed that in 2024, significant work
was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan
to amend regulations in the electric power sector to foster the
development of the energy industry. In 2025, work will continue on
legislative initiatives aimed at ensuring the return on investments
for large hydropower plants, pumped-storage plants, and energy
storage systems through the capacity market. Kairat Maksutov also
presented the company's plans for implementing several investment
projects in 2025.
Maksutov added that 114 repairs of 105 units of main equipment
of power plants are planned for 2025. Overall, Samruk-Energy plans
to commission 14.3 gigawatts of new generating capacity by
2032.
The extended meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Energy of the
Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the results of the work of the
agency in 2024 and the tasks for 2025 is held today in Kazakhstan's
Astana. The focus is on the key performance indicators of the
country's fuel and energy complex.
