BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 25. The volume of foreign direct investments of Japan in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to $180.6 million last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this figure decreased by $13.2 million, or 6.8 percent, compared to the indicator of 2023.
The share of investments from Japan in the total volume of foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan for the reporting year made up four percent.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan invested $18.45 million in the economy of Japan last year, which is $16.59 million or 96.9 percent more than in 2023.
The share of Azerbaijani investments made in Japan amounted to 1.3 percent of the total volume of direct foreign investments.
The volume of direct foreign investments from Japan to Azerbaijan in 2023 amounted to $193.8 million, and the volume of investments from Azerbaijan to the mentioned country exceeded $1.8 million.
Foreign direct investments in the economy of Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to $7.04 billion, which is $388.1 million or 5.83 percent more than in 2023. At the same time, the volume of Azerbaijan's foreign direct investment in the reporting year totaled $1.7 billion, which is $1.3 billion or 43.3 percent less than in 2023.
