ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 7. The Russian Federation remains the main destination for Kazakhstan's non-oil exports, with a total export value of $8.1 billion in 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to information, geographical proximity, logistical connectivity, and participation in Eurasian integration contribute to the steady growth of mutual trade with Russia.
“The second largest destination was China, with an indicator of $7.19 billion. There is active growth in the supply of metallurgical, chemical, and food products. The opening of a trade representative office of QazTrade in Urumqi and the development of export infrastructure in Nanjing further boost cooperation,” the report states.
The Ministry reports that to further expand export opportunities, Kazakhstan is implementing a strategy to develop logistics infrastructure.
The main focus is the creation of modern trade and transportation hubs along key routes, including on the borders with China and Central Asian countries. In this context, special importance is attached to the Khorgos International Center, the Central Asia International Center for Applied Commerce and the Alatau Intermodal Transport and Logistics Complex.
