ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 9. In 2025, Kazakhstan plans to carry out medium and major repairs on approximately 7,000 kilometers of roads, Trend reports via the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the information, the work is being carried out on key national transport routes that began last year. These include the “Zhezkazgan – Petropavlovsk,” “Karaganda – Ayagoz – Bugaz,” “Kandyagash – Shalkar – Irgiz,” and “Saryozek – Koktal” highways. This year, road crews have begun work on new sections as well, including “Karabutak – Rudny – Kostanay” and “Atyrau – Uralsk.”
“Special attention is being given to repairing the most heavily trafficked routes. In the Almaty region, medium repairs are underway on the Kulja highway — one of the region's main transport arteries. In the Abai and East Kazakhstan regions, medium repairs will continue on the 73-kilometer ‘Semey – Ust-Kamenogorsk’ highway, including pavement restoration and culvert repairs,” the statement said.
Last year in Kazakhstan, work began on 590 kilometers of the “Zhezkazgan – Petropavlovsk” highway, and continues this year on an additional 119 kilometers. Medium repairs also began last year on 161 kilometers of the “Mamlyutka – Kostanay” highway, with work continuing on another 74 kilometers this year.
