ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 20. Kazakhstan’s Hyrasia One plans to produce more than 2 million tons of green hydrogen per year for export to Europe under new large-scale projects and is fast-tracking regulatory and investment frameworks, Trend reports.
The communiqué was disseminated during a hydrogen energy
propulsion symposium in Astana, orchestrated by the Investment
Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with
JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST. The initiative sought to mitigate barriers to
project advancement and bolster Kazakhstan’s standing within the
international hydrogen sector.
During the event, Seraphim Energy Group disclosed its strategic
initiative for a hydrogen production facility with an annual
capacity of 40,000 tons, leveraging a 1 GW photovoltaic power
generation system located in the Zhambyl region.
Stakeholders—including Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov,
Vice Minister of Energy Bakytzhan Ilyas, Members of Parliament, and
industry leaders such as Air Liquide, Linde Gas, Alstom, and
Wabtec—engaged in a discourse on the multifaceted challenges
pertaining to technological advancements, infrastructural
development, and legislative frameworks.
Task forces were established to propel initiatives in alignment
with governmental agencies and Kazakhstan’s Investment Command
Center. Legislators reiterated their endorsement of hydrogen as a
pivotal element in the nation’s decarbonization agenda and
committed to the expeditious establishment of regulatory structures
to facilitate investment.
