The Hyundai Motor plant in St. Petersburg has started exporting Hyundai Accent cars to the CIS.
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus LLC will supply cars to neighboring countries, including Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The company plans to export up to 8,000 cars in 2011.
Exporting cars from Russia is only one direction of the company's activity. The other two directions include the gradual expansion of the plant's export markets in St. Petersburg. It is also planned to increase the plant's productivity up to 200,000 units per year,
compared to 150,000 units.
Hyundai Motor began the mass production of compact sedans at its plant in St. Petersburg in January.
